When making your choice of a Contractor to perform this awesome task for you, here are some questions to ask:

1.) Are you license and what is your license number?

2.) Are you bonded and insured?

3.) Do you have workers compensation insurance?

4.) Do you have any references, at least three (3)?

5.) Do you complete your jobs on time and to specifications?

6.) Are you available any time of the day, in case of an emergency?

7.) Do you have a business card, business number, a website and business address?

All of these questions are important and should be answered with a yes and checked out by you or a family member. If the answer to any of the questions is no, you should maybe want to reconsider your choice. If one of the question is no, you could be liable is someone is injured on your property and no recourse if the job is not completed.  It would not be a good thing if you can not put your hand on your contractor, because you don’t have a license number and they don’t have an address or phone number.

We’re glad we could share this most valuable information with you and all of our customers.  Here is the number to the California Contractor License Board  (800)321-2752 and all you have to do is dial the license number and the will give you the status of the license and bonding status of any contractor you’re considering for your project or google:  www.cslb.ca.gov and type in their Contractor License Number and all of their information will be displayed.

 Once you have completed this process you will be able to make a positive choice for a qualified licensed contractor that will provide you with a written estimate for your project.
